How students can use social media to help with job search

Ryan Brechbill, executive director of the Center for Career and Professional Development, advises students on how they can effectively use social media to land their dream job


The spring semester is one of the busiest times for college students to apply for summer internships and full-time jobs. Today, social media plays an active role in the candidate selection process. 

There are  ways that students can put their best foot forward presenting themselves on social media. Professional social networking isn't limited to LinkedIn. Companies also use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to help find, hire and weed out potential applicants.

Ryan Brechbill, executive director of the Center for Career and Professional Development, discussed how social media is playing a vital role in the student job search and what students can do to step up their social media game to help land their dream jobs.
