I could not wait to have Desmond Miles dive back into the “Animus” to relive the life of an ancestor. Reliving the life of Connor Kenway is his jumping point into the American Revolution.
The style of the game is like that of the previous games letting you explore the masterfully recreated Boston and wilds of old America during this historic time period. The first few games usually left you in the city with very few areas outside of it to explore. “Assassin’s Creed 3” allows you to explore much more of the frontier with the landscape actually changing to show the passage of time.
Desmond’s objective of the game is to find the “Key” that will unlock the inner sanctum of the Grand Temple, also known as the Central Vault, that the assassins have been looking for since the first game. To find the “Key,” Desmond must relive the life of his ancestor, Connor Kenway. By living Connor’s life, Desmond will see how the assassins helped the outcome of the Revolutionary War come to pass.
The enemies in the game are the British redcoats and a new type of enemy. Animals such as wolves, jaguars and bears are added for this game.
Two other features added to this game are a lock picking mechanic in which you use the two joysticks to find the sweet spot and jimmy the door. The other feature is that in the frontier you can hunt for animals to get pelts to sell.
The biggest thing that has been added for this game is naval exploration. You can sail around areas taking the fight to the seas. The vistas you see on the sea are truly breathtaking. Also, the weather on the seas can change at any time from a beautiful sunny day to a powerful storm.
The multiplayer has also added on some new modes. There’s the classic deathmatch in which players try to assassinate other players while trying to avoid being killed themselves. There’s the new team-based Artifact Assault mode in which one team tries to steal the others artifacts. There is also Domination, in which you try and sneak into enemy camps and take them.
The game plays very similarly to the games that came before it, but “Assassin’s Creed 3” is still a fun game to play. Despite it being hard to get into at the beginning, fans of the series will not be disappointed in any way and enjoy having fun in the beautiful world that the game creates.
