Lost? Check out a list of events for new student week

Unpack the minivan, load up the dresser, kiss your sobbing mother goodbye and get ready for that awkward first encounter with your new (best) friend and roommate—welcome to Otterbein.

There will be a lot going on your first couple weeks on campus. So here we’ve compiled a list of events—with times and locations—to help you navigate the campus. You will receive a full schedule of events at First Flight check-in, but here are some events to remember.

Wednesday, Aug. 21
10 a.m. – 12 noon: Check-in for students living on campus in even numbered rooms.
1 – 3 p.m.: Check-in for students living on campus in odd numbered rooms.
4 – 4:30 p.m.: Commuter student check-in.
All check-ins are in the Campus Center lounge.

Friday, Aug. 23
6 – 9 p.m.: Westerville’s Fourth Friday Festival (State St., Uptown Westerville). Fourth Friday is an event that occurs on the fourth friday of each month throughout the summer. Tables line State St. as Westerville boasts the best of its local fare—and there is usually plenty of free stuff.

Monday, Aug. 26
All day: Fall semester begins. To find your schedule, go to Otterbein’s homepage, click on “My O-Zone” in the top right and follow the link titled “My Banner.”

Friday, Aug. 30
3 – 6 p.m.: CAB First Friday Festival at the Campus Center.
5:30 p.m.: Come support the Cardinal volleyball team—the defending 2012 OAC Champions—as they take on the Rose-Hulman Institue of Technology.
7:30 p.m.: Stick around after the game to see a second game against Trine. Both games are in the Rike Center (the domed building behind the football field).
