Still looking for that perfect Halloween costume? Well stop going in the same Batman costume you bought five years ago, and check out one of these pop-culture inspired costumes that your friends will love — or find slightly disturbing.
1. Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke at the 2013 VMA’s
Essentials:
For Miley: You have two options, a teddy bear leotard, which can be found at Halloween stores, or a nude bikini, a short blonde wig and don’t forget the buns, red lipstick, white sneakers and a foam finger.
Bonus: Stick your tongue out — a lot.
For Robin: Black and white striped suit, a gold chain and aviator sunglasses. To add to the look, carry a microphone.
2. Duck Dynasty Crew
Essentials: Head-to-toe camouflage, a hat, boots and a giant fake beard. Make sure to talk in your best southern accent.
For a bonus effect, carry a fake rifle.
3. “Breaking Bad’s” Walter White and Jesse Pinkman
Essentials: A yellow HazMat suit look-alike and blue latex gloves. Spirit Halloween also has a Walter White costume that is affordable.
4. Gatsby and Daisy
Essentials:
Daisy: A flapper dress, short blonde wig, a flashy headband and lots of jewelry.
Gatsby: All you need is an expensive-looking suit. Carry along a walking stick to add to the ensemble.
5. Carrie
Essentials: An old dress and lots of fake blood. As long as you’re covered in blood from head to toe, people will get it. You might want to let it dry first though, so it won’t be dripping everywhere.
6. “The Fox”
Cute Fox: Fox ears, an orange or brown dress and a bushy tail. Don’t forget to paint on a nose and whiskers.
“The Fox”: Bottom line, find a fox suit. It will also help if you run around making all the sounds from the music video.
Whichever version you choose, people will appreciate it because Ylvis’s “The Fox” has gotten so much hype this fall.
7. Rick Grimes from “The Walking Dead”
Essentials: Sheriff’s outfit
Bonus: Carry an axe, and have your friend dress up as a zombie and follow you around all night long. In true Michonne style, wrap some chains around your zombie, or find a toy claw arm that your zombie can fit its head into.
8. Grumpy Cat
Essentials: White dress or other all-white outfit, cat ears and a tail. Paint your face to look like a cat and put on a grumpy face.
