In case you missed it:

US - Two police officers were shot during protests in Ferguson, Missouri last Thursday night. A 20 year-old man, Williams, has been charged with the shootings and is being held on bail for $300,000. He claims that he was not aiming for the officers but instead someone else with whom he had conflict with.

US - Utah passed an anti-discrimination bill last Wednesday night that protects gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people from being discriminated against in housing or employment. This bill was helped along by Mormon leaders who, while oppose same-sex marriage, support anti-discrimination.

World - Israeli election day is Tuesday, March 17 and it is a close race. The two largest of the parties vying for government control are current right-wing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's, Likud party and the center-left leaning Zionist Union that would put Labor Party Chairperson Isaac Herzog in the prime minister position.

Coming up:

An anti human trafficking bill is being blocked by Senate Democrats because of a section in the bill that would permanently disallow federal funds to be used to pay for abortions except in cases of incest, rape or when carrying out the pregnancy would jeopardize the woman's life.

Otterbein:
