In case you missed it:
US - Heinz Company and Kraft Foods Group announced last Wednesday that they are in the process of merging the two companies to make the third largest food and beverage company in North America and fifth largest food and beverage company in the world.
US - Indiana governor, Mike Pence, is dealing with the repercussions of a law he signed that will allow businesses to refuse service to others based on their "deeply held religious beliefs". Critics claim that the ' Religious Freedom Restoration Act' enables businesses to legally discriminate against gay people.
World - Afghanistan President, Ashraf Ghani, visited Washington D.C. last Wednesday and gave a speech to Congress. After the speech, President Obama announced that he would maintain the approximately 10,000 US military troops currently stationed in Afghanistan through 2015, a slight change in the timeline for complete US troop withdrawal from Afghanistan by the end of 2016.
Coming up:
Iran's foreign minister is meeting with six world powers this week to discuss its nuclear program. Participants hope to reach an agreement by Tuesday which would keep Iran from producing enough nuclear fuel for a weapon.
Otterbein:
Men's golf won the Muskingum University Spring Invitational that took place at the Eaglesticks golf club on Friday. The Capital Invitational will also be taking place at the Eaglesticks golf club this Thursday and Friday.
Men's tennis will be playing against Marietta on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m Women's softball is going up against Mount St. Joseph on Thursday at 3pm.
The Career Center is hosting an informal conversation about careers on Wednesday, April 1. Coffee will be provided.
In other news:
The NCAA Final Four are to compete on Saturday, April 4. Wisconsin will be playing University of Kentucky and Michigan State will be going up against Duke. The final championship will be held April 6.
