Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump continued to deny to promise to honor election results and pressed allegations of corruption on his opponent at an event at the Delaware County Fair on Thursday.
The statements were made in the wake of the third and final presidential debate between Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
In his opening statement Trump said, “I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters and to all of the people of the United States, that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election...if I win.”
Trump later referenced the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court case, stating that he was being “asked to waive statutes of legal precedents designed to protect the voters.”
Following up on statements he had made at the debate, Trump referenced emails provided by Wikileaks, stating that Clinton dislikes catholics and evangelicals. Trump also referenced an email suggesting that a question in a Town Hall debate may have been provided to Clinton in advance.
Morrow County Commissioner Thomas Whiston, who attended the rally, said that he wanted more focus on the issues of the campaign rather than the candidates.
