Mina Zaky, an undeclared freshman, shared a piece that means a lot to him and his family.
Zaky described what the tattoo is, “It’s supposed to be a cross with light beams on each of the corners. It looks more like a snowflake, though. It is a religious thing.”
The piece was one that Zaky got at a young age and is one that he shares with family, “My mom, dad, brother, I and many other family members have it as well.”
Zaky stated the importance of the tattoo in terms of his faith, “Many people of my faith, Coptic Orthodox, get it to show pride in our Christianity in a predominantly Islamic country [such as Egypt].”
