Otterbein University’s volleyball team is ready to get back on the court this season after last year's success, which involved a 30-4 record and winning the Ohio Athletic Conference regular-season title and tournament crown.
Head Coach Monica Wright said they lost a few key players from last season, but thinks that the competition from other teams will keep the team motivated.
The team is hoping to work on team connection and serving skills, while also deciding on the lineup. After an impressive camp, Wright said she is finding it hard to decide who will fill the roles of the players they've lost.
“It’s pretty much a general understanding that we’re going to have to work even harder than last summer," said senior outside hitter Olivia Harris. "We all knew we worked hard last summer to get ready for the season, and it paid off.”
Harris is most excited to be back with her team and have fun. She said their bond and excitement will make them more successful on the court.
The volleyball team will host their first home match of the season on Oct. 6 against Baldwin Wallace.
