Otterbein University gets ready for 2023 commencement

Graduating seniors reflect on their time at Otterbein

Otterbein University is preparing to honor the class of 2023.

Undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies will be held at Memorial Stadium on Sunday, April 30. The two undergraduate ceremonies will begin at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. respectively. The graduate ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Speakers for the undergraduate commencement ceremonies include Johnathan Hargis, former vice president and chief marketing officer of Charter Communication, and former Sen. Rob Portman. Hargis will speak at the 9:30 a.m. ceremony, and Portman will speak at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony. Barb Smoot, president and CEO of Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD) will speak at the graduate commencement ceremony.

With the ceremonies to take place in just over a week, many seniors are looking back on their time at Otterbein.

Audrey Gremmer, an allied health major said of her experience "I've learned a lot of things about myself, and through my classes, I've learned a lot. It's taught me a lot about professionalism and working with other people."

"It's been a crazy four years," said Shep Marty, a business and analytics major. "But I'm definitely going to miss all the friends. I'm looking forward to post-grad life."
